Hanazawa Yuusaku is a main character from the manga Golden Kamuy. Although he himself does not have many scenes, the dynamic relationship he has with his older half-brother Ogata Hyakunosuke has made him a fan favorite. Because Ogata calls him by his first name, "Yuusaku," so does the fandom, which is opposite of all the other GK characters who have last names.
Yuusaku was murdered prior to the events of Golden Kamuy by Ogata during the Battle of 203 Hill, where surrounding fire hid that he had been the one to shoot him.

Hanazawa Yuusaku/Ogata Hyakunosuke [勇尾 (YuuO) or 尾勇 (Oyuu)] is by far his most popular pairing (coupling in Japanese). Their tragic relationship as well as Ogata's breakout character status has made the ship have a lot of depth and AU potential, though being related has made Hanazawa Yuusaku & Ogata Hyakunosuke be more popular in many circles.
His second-most popular ship is the rarepair Hanazawa Yuusaku/Sugimoto Saichi [勇杉 (Yuusugi)], which pairs him with Sugimoto Saichi. Sugimoto is the only character aside from Ogata to interact with Yuusaku directly on panel.
Hanazawa Yuusaku/Ogata Hyakunosuke/Usami Tokishige [UsayuuO] is his most popular poly ship, adding Usami Tokishige to YuuO or adding Yuusaku to the popular Ogata Hyakunosuke/Usami Tokishige.
