James/Sirius is a Harry Potter slash pairing of James Potter and Sirius Black.

Canon

James and Sirius first met at Hogwarts, and together with Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew formed the Marauders. James marries Lily Evans after Hogwarts and Sirius served as their best man at the wedding. They joined the Order of the Phoenix together. James makes Sirius his son's godfather.

James and Sirius are also related through Dorea Potter née Black (Sirius’ Great Aunt and an unknown relative of James). Originally it was believed that James' mother was named Dorea Potter, however JK Rowling on Pottermore revealed his mother was named Euphemia Potter. Dorea is married to Charlus Potter and they had one son, however it's currently unknown where in the Potter family tree they are.[1]

Fandom

James and Sirius are sometimes in a threesome with Lily or Remus. (One-sided) James/Sirius is also sometimes used as stepping stone/angst fodder in endgame Remus/Sirius stories. Other times the pairing is depicted as an ambiguous or co-dependent friendship that borders on romance, with the ship portmanteaus also used by fans to describe their relationship even when not strictly romantic and "pure" romantic endgame James/Sirius being relatively rare.
