Nahida is a playable five star dendro character in Genshin Impact. She is also the Dendro Archon.

Canon

The Traveler arrives in Sumeru in search of Lesser Lord Kusanali, the Dendro Archon, who hasn't been spotted anywhere in the country for centuries. The Traveler learns that this is because she was imprisoned ever since she was born for not being like her predecessor Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, and can only communicate through dreams. Freeing her from captivity is the main plot point of Sumeru’s Archon Quests.

Most Nahida's ships are gen. There is discourse about whether or not is ethical to ship her romantically, despite her age, as she is still young for an archon.

Criticism

When Nahida's design was first revealed, some fans expressed discontent about her appearance and the potential implications of her design. One aspect of the criticism revolved around her character's skin tone, which appeared significantly lighter than what might be expected for an archon representing a nation inspired by Middle Eastern, South Asian, and Northern African cultures. Some fans felt that this design choice did not accurately reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the region that served as the inspiration for Sumeru.
