Janeway/Chakotay is the het pairing of Kathryn Janeway and Chakotay in Star Trek: Voyager fandom.
They had a kind of intimacy that didn't cross lines but was undeniable.[1]
Fandom
While the pairing had strong implications of existing in canon very early in the series (with an episode, "Resolutions" in which Janeway and Chakotay were abandoned together on a planet with little sign of rescue), was soon relegated to nothing more than the imaginations of the fans with little on-screen sign of the relationship developing. This lead to the commonly used in-joke in the JetC community that the fans were "projecting" their ideas of the relationship onto the screen, usually as a way of downplaying how seriously they took the pairing. "Don't mind me, I'm just projecting..." was a common phrase used when discussing some perceived subtext on screen.

- Resolutions: exploring their stay on New Earth and what could have happened if they had stayed there
- Fix-it: unhappy with how the series ended with Chakotay/Seven, many fanfiction writers will rewrite the series finale
- Post-Endgame: focusing on the possibility of a romantic relationship developing post series finale, after they returned to the Alpha Quadrant
- Alternative Universe: alternative universes where they are a couple, within the multiple alternative timelines available on the show or new ones created by fans
- Hurt/Comfort: Janeway and Chakotay comforting each other after some of the traumatic events that occurred during the series
- Relaunch Novels: related to the post-canon novel series, where Chakotay and Janeway were in a relationship
- Commando: Chakotay not wearing underwear[2]
