Reactions and Reviews

"The Bones of My People" and its sequels are wonderful, wonderful, and Miss Elise can write the hell out a story. A thoroughly impressive version of a Voyager future in which the ship crashes and the crew must readjust to a completely different sort of life and build a real home. Lovely stuff; it made me cry. I printed this out to keep, and I commend Miss Elise to you. [1]

I'm a sucker for colonization stories. <g> And this one covers the entire emotional range. The descriptions the characters are great. [2]

What can I say? I LOVED this story. I really enjoy the way Elise writes, interlacing beautiful poetry with the story. One thing that I really like is a story that sticks with me - makes me keep thinking about it. The last line of the last verse of poetry still rings in my mind when I just THINK about this story. [3]

I enjoyed this well-thought out study of what would happen *if*... and it's not even my favorite plotline! But Elise adds a touch of poetry even to her prose... It's good. Very good. [4]

This is an amazing piece, the first part in a series, in which Voyager crashes on a planet, and the crew must establish a new home there. It's really primarily a J/C story, and a lovely one, but the P/T relationship is a strong part of the plot. The characterization is rich and complex, the writing clean and lovely. This is one of the best stories I read all last year, very, very moving. Go read it! What are you waiting for? [5]
