With the growth in popularity of the JetC lists, the issue of the involvement of under 18's became more important. The list members were aware that under 18s wished to join in with their discussions, but were reluctant to risk exposing them to adult material. To resolve this problem the JetCjr lists were created. These were lists that were managed by a 'listmom', a member of one of the adult JetC lists, who would functioned as moderator and mentor for the list, and had a dozen or so members who were all under the age of 18. As with the adult lists, when a maximum number of members had been achieved, the list would be closed, and a new one opened. There were at least fourteen JetCjr lists, which functioned very similarly to their adult equivalents.
