Kamisato Ayato/Thoma is a ship in the Genshin Impact fandom between head of the Kamisato Clan Ayato and his housekeeper Thoma.
Canon
Before the events of the game Thoma, originally from Mondstadt, falls overboard traveling and finds himself alone in Inazuma. His efforts to survive lead him to work for the Kamisato Clan where he meets Ayato and his sister Ayaka. After the death of Ayato's parents he gave Thoma the option to leave, citing the difficulties the Kamisato Clan was likely to face, and Thoma refused. Thoma is known to be very loyal to Ayato and his sister in canon and Ayato states he is one of the few people he trusts.
Fandom
Thoma was released months before Ayato and there was much anticipation as fans speculated about their relationship and dynamic. Some fans created their own Ayato designs for ship art and elaborate headcanons for fics during this period, a number being posted even before Thoma's official release. After Ayato's release some deleted their work in favor of canon while others did not.
