Alien is a franchise of movies, comics, books and video games that started with the 1979 film Alien by Ridley Scott. The main character is Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver:

There is also a prequel series in the same franchise:
- Prometheus, directed by Ridley Scott and released in 2012. Possibly due to the casting of Michael Fassbender as an android, fan fiction[1] and fan art [2] for the movie were posted before the movie's release.
- Alien: Covenant, a sequel to Prometheus, was released in 2017.
Besides the main movies there is a lot of stuff using the alien creatures from the film, such as the Alien vs. Predator movies and comics.
