Locke is a main character from the Square Enix game Final Fantasy VI.
Canon
Dashing and charming with just that hint of a tormented past, Locke is your thief’s thief. Don’t call him a thief though; he prefers the term Treasure Hunter. Street smart and intelligent, he knows his way around difficult situations and probably every secret passageway out of the city. Stay on his good side and he’ll never steer you wrong.
Forever Rachel
Part of Locke’s backstory involves him searching for the Phoenix magicite so he can attempt to revive an old lover by the name of Rachel. While the spell does work, poor Locke is granted but a few seconds before losing her for good. Many Final Fantasy fans believe this to be one of the greatest scenes in the series, along with Aerith’s death and Dagger’s haircut.

As the (debatable) protagonist, Locke is heavily shipped. Pairings with Terra and Celes are both common, with threesomes being likely, and Locke x Rachel ships also being feasible. AUs where Rachel never died are also popular given the obscurity of her character.
