Gau is a main character from the Square Enix game Final Fantasy VI.
Canon
Noted for being one of few main characters in FF6 with few distinct ties to the plot, Gau is considered an oddity in many ways. Being a feral child found by Sabin and Cyan is just the tip of the iceberg, as his own father believed he was a demon responsible for the death of his mother during childbirth, he is able to learn the attack patterns and abilities of enemies (even mechanical ones), and is still aware of some (but not all) human etiquette despite having little to no contact with humans prior to meeting Sabin and Cyan. He may not be relevant to the plot, however he certainly is relevant to fans’ interests.

Being both a child and dressed in rags, ships featuring Gau are rare. He has a soft spot for Sabin which makes a pairing between them a possibility, however Gau remains largely forgotten in shipping.
