GuiLi is a rarepair in the Genshin Impact fandom. In canon, Guizhong and Zhongli were gods who choose to create an alliance, governing their people together, over 2000 years prior to the start of the game's main story line. They governed their people as a unit until Guizhong died sometime during the Archon War.

Within fandom, fans further expand upon this alliance to include a romantic relationship between the two. Fans are drawn to this ship because of it's angst as well as their “brains and brawn” dynamic. Fics, art, and meta are all common fanworks created for GuiLi.

Guizhong's appearance wasn't revealed until the 3.4 update of the game, but fan portrayals of her prior to that point often portrayed a long-haired woman in an ornate dress with a Glaze Lily in her hair, as a nod to canon details about her love for the flower that were revealed to us through Zhongli.
