Cyno is a five star electro character in Genshin Impact.

Canon

He is the General Mahamatra of the Akademiya, the leading academic institution in Sumeru. As the General Mahamatra, Cyno is responsible for upholding the Akademiya's laws and regulations, and investigating any suspected violations. He is known for his ruthlessness and efficiency in carrying out his duties, and is feared by many in Sumeru.

Despite his intimidating appearance and demeanor, Cyno is actually a kind and caring person. He is deeply dedicated to his work, and only wants what is best for Sumeru. Those who know him well get to see a joking side of his personality. He also enjoys playing the card game Genius Invokation TCG.

Fandom

Some fans have expressed disappointment that Cyno's puns in Chinese do not translate well into English, as puns can be difficult to translate to other languages. In Chinese, Cyno's puns are often clever and witty, but in English, they can come across as corny or even cringe-worthy. This has led some fans to call Cyno's English puns "dad jokes."
