Batman: The Animated Series is a Fox animated series from the 1990s that followed the adventures of Batman and Robin. It is the first show set in what would become to be known as the Timmverse. After the show's initial run in 1995, it later returned in 1997 under the name The New Batman Adventures which focused more on Batman's supporting cast such as Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl, among others.
Canon
The series stars Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne/Batman, the voice actor became quite infamous with Batman fannish community due to his iconic role as Bruce/Batman. Mark Hamill also became quite popular in the Batman fannish community due to his voice work for The Joker. The Animated Series also introduced Harley Quinn, who became a fan favorite, and who's popularity eventually lead to her being included in comics canon.
