Alara's Mystique Page was created some time in 1998 as a site devoted to Alara's second-favourite Marvel Comics villain, Mystique. From her introduction:

Mystique would be my second favorite Marvel villain (Magneto being first.) And, like Magneto, Mystique has never been only a villain. Back in the days when I started collecting X-Men, she was the ultimate villain to me (since Magneto was an X-Man at the time)-- devious, intelligent, a woman who didn't dress like something out of a Frederick's of Hollywood catalog, a ruthless villainness, a loving mother, a loyal friend. And a shapechanger. I was really into shapechangers in those days. In some ways I prefer Mystique's model of dealing with life to Magneto's-- if I were to become a supervillain, I think I'd like to sneak around behind the scenes, assassinating people and terrorizing them by taking their shapes and stealing super-duper technology, then coming home to my best friend and my daughter and having a normal life, rather than building secret bases, living there in seclusion, and blowing things up every time I get ticked off.

 

Like her Magneto page, Alara's Mystique page housed not only fanfic, but an FAQ and meta essays about the character. The last update was in October 27, 2001.
