Biography

I've been writing in fandom since 1998, although I first discovered online fan fiction December 1997, and occasionally beta read. My first internet fan fiction was posted to the Mulder/Krycek Romantics Association, which is also the first slash site I was directed to and read through. A college friend, Woodinat, sent me the link because while in college with her almost all the books I recommended to her had a slash subtext and she knew I loved The X-Files. In honor of that I have a page on my site devoted to recommending slashy novels.

(My actual first fan fiction was only in my mind at the age of about 7 or 8 when I created non-idiot female characters, unlike the one actual female character, to take part in my own mental episodes of the time-traveling The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang animated series that ran from 1980-1982.)

In my early times (and Te's early times) as a X-Files fan author my work was often mistaken for Te's and vice versa, which is particularly funny if you ever met us in person.

Although I started out in just X-Files internet fandom, within a year I became fandom polygamous. I primarily write slash but have also written gen and some het. I contributed fic to both the 2001 and 2011 editions of the multifandom challenge 101 Ways To End Up In A Canadian Shack and to the slash print zine due South anthology Serge Protector and volume #2 of Duet (Due South zine). I wrote often detailed episode reviews for Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda (TV show) to the very end of the series because I'm a completist and hoped Harper and the series would get a decent ending. They didn't. Before Andromeda totally went down the tubes I founded and moderated The Universe Hates You (TUHY) Yahoo! Groups mailing list.

In addition to writing in the fandoms listed on the side, I've also written one or two (or a few) stories each in Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler), 12 Monkeys (TV), Harsh Realm, Hands Off!, Kyou Kara Maou, Samurai Champloo, Fullmetal Alchemist, Alice 19th, Nature of the Beast, Witchblade, Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited - Hyoubu Kyousuke, The Vision Of Escaflowne, s-CRY-ed, Thieves' World/Tempus, Sith Academy, the Mountie Slayer fan universe, and Third Watch. I read in many more fandoms than I write.

I did/wrote some online roleplay for several years as a few Weiß Kreuz characters and an Andromeda (TV show) character at the multi-fandom LiveJournal communities Sages of Chaos, Dear Multiverse, and Not For Tourists, and some personal LiveJournal accounts of other players/characters my characters interacted with.

Some people don't include the 5, just calling me "Viridian." My pseud is literally from my original AOL screen name/e-mail address. If they hadn't already been taken, I would have been Viridian or Viridian9.

Current Projects

Working on a number of fan fiction works in progress in a few fandoms, including "Glass Houses," a Weiß Kreuz WIP I've been posting in pieces to my LiveJournal since August 2003 and at Archive of Our Own and my Dreamwidth, which may even be finished before I die of old age. Maybe.
