Andromeda is a science fiction television show based on material from the Genesis II (film) by Gene Roddenberry, and produced by his widow, Majel Roddenberry.[1] The series stars Kevin Sorbo as Dylan Hunt, a starship captain frozen in time for 300 years inside a black hole. Once rescued, he assembles a small crew of misfits and attempts to rebuild his lost civilization.

The name "Dylan Hunt" and many ideas from this show originated from Gene Roddenberry's 1973 film Genesis II.
