  • XFL's origins and the staffers involvement in the Blu-ray for the second X-Files feature film I Want To Believe
  • what he thinks of the new mini-series
  • Matt's thoughts about X-Files fandom in general

Matt on fandom origins and experiences:
Matt founded the X-Files Lexicon after he worked on the Harry Potter Lexicon with Steve Vander Ark. After Allair conducted some Google searches he noticed there was no similar X-Files information resource website and began writing the first 12 pages for The X-Files Lexicon.

Allair got hit own computer in 1999. He lurked on the Official X-Files Message Board when it was still operated by Delphi where he read comments by other users. He does not consider himself as a First Wave phile, unlike for example Sarah Stegall.

on XFL's contribution to the 'I Want To Believe Blu-ray:
Matt and two XFL staffers contributed to the I Want To Believe Blu-ray: for the interactive timeline, he worked as a researcher and contributor after Jana Fain, Frank Spotnitz' assistant got is contact with him. The history section on the Blu-ray was written by Allair as well es the synopses, timelines. They used Mike Merrick's X-Files Timeline[2] as a source.

on the future of XFL and Philedom/Fandom engagement
Allair thinks that social media is a challenge to website like the X-Files Lexicon. Fandom is different than 7 years ago and he is trying to adapt, moving forward by creating something like XF Lexicon TV/Video content. Other have told him to do a podcast of his own, but he is more a print fan. He posts regularly to the XFL blog.

He would love to a The Lone Gunmen resource website and a MillenniuM Lexicon, since both shows are considered a part of the Carterverse. Both shows will be covered on the X-Cast Podcast in the future as well.

Allair was big supporter of Chris Carter's show The After and Harsh Realm.

on his involvement in The Syndicate
He helped to create the idea but the project is still considered in development

on his favourite X-Files ...

  • ... episode: Gethsemane - He likes the fact that Mulder becomes more skeptical during the Redux arc
  • ... season: Season 3, toss with season 4. Matt likes the ecliptic style of these two season
  • ... character: Matt identifies a great deal with Mulder. He likes the Deep Throat/Mulder relationship and likens it to the Ben Kenobi/Luke Skywalker relationship in Star Wars
  • ... moment in general: The scene in season 3 episode Paperclip where Skinner is telling off CSM

on if believes in...the paranormal?' Allair is more a Mulder, he wants to believe. He is not certain had not paranormal experiences. Has read a lot of the works of Carl Jung and he “would love to believe”.

Matt currently loves Game of Thrones and has watched every episode.
