Hilbert is a Pokémon Trainer and a playable character from Pokémon Black and White. He is a fan favorite and the focus of many fanworks. He also makes appearances in Pokémon Masters. While he does have a counterpart in Pokéspe named Black, this character is distinct enough for his own article.

The Pokémon he is most associated with is the Oshawott line, including Dewott and Samurott.

Hilbert or Touya?

Unlike with many names canonized by the official English translation for the games, Hilbert's in particular is very unpopular with fans. "Touya" was more common than "Hilbert" when BW released in 2010 and still is as of 2024.

IsshuShipping and FerrisWheelShipping

N is said outside of the games to be around 18, four years older than both Hilda and Hilbert, and shipping him with them is considered a large age gap. Other rivals in the series do not have this age gap, so N is an outlier, something not ignored by shippers. Shippers of IsshuShipping and FerrisWheelShipping are ostracized by some in the fandom.
