Pokémon Masters is a free to play, gacha spin-off of the popular Pokémon games. To non-gacha fans, Masters is most known for its wide selection of playable trainers, most of which come from entries in the series which have not gotten any attention from Game Freak in years. The new dialogue and outfits given to these trainers are often reflected in fan fic and fan art. When a new trainer gets added to the roster, it's often a big deal to fans.
Even EXes to existing characters, (which give them a new outfit,) often make waves. The release of Silver's EX variant inspired a resurgence of fanart for the character in particular.
In MikuMikuDance's fandom, 3D models extracted from this game are often ported to the program soon after they are released. Most MMD fanworks created since the release of Masters use 3D models ported from this game, widely expanding the pool of available models to work with from before, which was a select handful of models by dedicated fans, to nearly every trainer from Pokémon Red and Blue to Pokémon Sword and Shield (with many more coming soon.)
