Deleting Links

Hi, I just thought I should mention that before you delete links please do a quick check to see if those links are archived either on the Wayback Machine or archive.is, like sometimes they are not, but sometimes you get lucky and find an archived version of the fanwork, for example you deleted four dead links from the Sam Winchester/Dean Winchester page and I was able to find three of the links archived at archive.is. I don't want to come across as preachy, but I just thought that maybe you weren't aware -- Kingstoken (talk) 17:30, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Uploading Images as Creative Commons

Hi, I've just noticed that you have been uploading a few image files and labelling them as CC for creative commons when it appears that they are not, for example this image, File:Elsanna SunsetWaltz.jpg, when you go to the original deviantart page it says that the image is copyrighted to the artist, we can still use the file, but in this case it should be listed under Fair for fair use. If a file is creative commons on deviantart it will have the following in the description "Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License", like this one did, File:Elsanna SharingBreath.png. As for art from tumblr it is a little harder to know the licensing, unless the artist has stated that anyone it free to use or share the image it is best to be on the save side and list it as Fair. Anyways, I didn't meant to come off as preachy, but I thought maybe you were unaware. -- Kingstoken (talk) 00:45, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

Renaming Pages

Hi Azdaema, a lot of your recent edits involve moving content from one page to a differently named page. This is not Fanlore procedure for renaming pages. If you want a page to be renamed, you need to raise the issue on the talk page and the move will be made by an advanced editor or gardener, if all editors agree to the move. (See Help:Moving a page) Moving a page also retains the edit history, whereas coping and pasting will not. A number of your recent edits will be reverted for these reasons. Please start a talk page discussion if you believe a page name should be changed. --Auntags (talk) 23:38, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

For anyone reading this, discussion continued on my talk page. I will finish reverting edits tomorrow . --Auntags (talk) 00:40, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Azdaema,

Regarding your recent edits to River/Jayne and Jayne Cobb/River Tam, in which you shifted all content from one version of the page to another: please be aware that this is not how we move pages, as Auntags has already informed you. We rename pages via a process of discussion, not just because one editor has decided the name should change - and if they are renamed, it needs to be carried out as a page move so that the edit history and Talk page are preserved (but again, only if several editors agree on the move).

This is a formal warning that moving content wholesale between pages without discussion is considered to be hostile editing. If you do this again, we will suspend your Fanlore account in accordance with our Hostile Editing Policy.

If you have any questions about this or Fanlore's other policies, please feel free to reply here or contact Fanlore Policy & Admin. --enchantedsleeper (talk) 19:43, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Just had to try one last time, to see if the issue was the in-mass thing. Azdaema (talk) 03:23, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Removing Dead Links

Hi, thank you for your recent edits!

However, I have noticed that you removed two links from Sansa Stark/Brienne of Tarth because you thought they were dead links. Our policy on Fanlore is to keep dead links:

'Fanlore policy on link rot is to find an updated page with the correct content if possible, but if not, to leave the original link for archive purposes and flag it with the Dead link template.'

Please see also our page Help:Dead link about this.

Another page you might be interested in is https://fanlore.org/wiki/Help:Citing_sources#Archiving:_Preventing_Link_Rot :

What to do about websites that are already dead? If a website has been cited on Fanlore and is offline and no longer accessible, check the three archiving services to see if the page has been archived. Then replace the dead link with the archived link and add "(offline, archived)" at the end of the cite. If the page is offline or locked and has not been archived, leave the cite intact and add "(offline, not archived)" after the cite. Do not delete dead links that are not archived- just document their current status. Consider looking for alternative sources to use that are current and/or can be found in archives.

Both links you removed were tumblr links. I klicked on them and found the tumblrs are still active: Help me, she prayed, send me a friend, Archived version and When Your Old Enough, Archived version. There are even archived urls provided by a previous editor.

I'd say there was no reason for deleting the links. If you feel content needs to be remove please make sure you're not violating Fanlore policies by doing so. The best way would be to bring the issue up on the talk page first, otherwise your edits might be seen as damaging to the article or even hostile editing. You can also add the template Attention Gardeners if you want to start a discussion.

Fanlore has a fan project for archiving tumblr posts and you can find some very useful information on their page.

I will now revert your edit and restore the links. --SecurityBreach (talk) 09:37, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

I just noticed there was a third link you removed which is also still working: brienne and sansa would get married once everyone is settled and safe again, Archived version --SecurityBreach (talk) 09:44, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

note about re-up survey for AE status

Hi Azdaema, I’m here with my Policy & Admin hat on, and we just have a very brief annual survey for you to fill out to confirm you’re still interested in the AE status (move/delete Pages) - which we hope you are since you came on board this year! The email is a bit lengthy to leave on your Talk page, would you mind contacting us through the form, so we can email you the explanation and survey link? https://www.transformativeworks.org/contact_us/?who=Fanlore Thanks! Joanna R (talk) 21:45, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Sure, what subject should I message you under? Or do you just wanna email me at [email protected]? Azdaema (talk) 02:56, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi Azdaema! It doesn’t really matter, but thanks for the email - we can just send it to you directly at that address! (I wasn’t sure if you wanted it publicly-visible, I’ve recorded it now so you can delete if you’d prefer. I’ll be in touch shortly! Joanna R (talk) 05:07, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi Azdaema! Confirming here that I just sent off the email - I apologize it took me a couple days to get myself in front of a keyboard to actually send the email... We weren’t sure emails from the summer were reaching you, so I’m leaving a note here too, to look out for it. Joanna R (talk) 00:19, 9 November 2022 (UTC)

@Joanna R Hey, I know I really dropped the ball with not completing that move/delete pages thing. I've finally got a bit of downtime right now, could I circle back and do that now? Or is it too late? I understand if it is. Azdaema (talk) 01:32, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
