Silver Trio

In Harry Potter fandom, Silver Trio is a fan term that can refer to several different groups of characters. The term is a play on "Golden Trio", which is used to refer to the series's three main characters, Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

Most commonly, "Silver Trio" is used to refer to either:

• Ginny, Neville, & Luna, a "secondary trio" made up of the three friends who fought alongside the Golden Trio at the Department of Mysteries and restarted Dumbledore's Army in the Golden Trio's absence
• Draco, Pansy, & Blaise, an "anti-Golden Trio" made up of fandom's three favorite Slytherins

Less often, it can refer to:

• Draco, Crabbe, & Goyle, the canonical Slytherin trio of friends
• Draco, Blaise, & Theodore Nott, another Slytherin threesome
• Albus, Rose & Scorpius or other fanonical next-gen trios
• Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but sorted into Slytherin

The discussion about what the actual Silver Trio lineup is extensive in the Harry Potter fandom, many fans always make their opinions clear about what they think:

if we are only counting during harry’s years at hogwarts, part of me feels that any of the three slytherins would be silver while luna, neville, and ginny be bronze because of the colors. i mean slytherin is green and silver while ravenclaw is blue and bronze so it fits better in my opinion.

i know that pansy, draco, and blaise have been referred to as the anti-golden trio so if anything there is that instead.

if we are going for consistency only Draco, Pansy, Blaise, and Al, Rose, Scorp are trios with the combo of 2 boys and one girl, though Luna, Neville, Ginny is still a trio with at least one character being of the opposite gender.

I always assumed it referred to Luna, Neville, and Ginny. It wasn't until I dug around on Tumblr a bit that I noticed people referring to other trios as the Silver one. The only other trio that makes sense as Silver to me is Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle since they were the original Slytherin trio our heroes started out against. Did I miss something about Albus, Rose, and Scorpius being good friends and being a trio in their time at Hogwarts?

As Hispanohablante and Lusophone, of course that I follow the line that if they are The Silver Trio, so we are talking about Draco, Pansy & Blaise because they are Slytherin and snakes use silver and green in your clothes.
