Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy is a next-gen Harry Potter character. He appears in the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. He is the son of Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass and is in the same Hogwarts year and house as Harry's younger son Albus Severus Potter.
Fandom
Even before the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, despite the fact that Scorpius figures in a relatively minor part of the Harry Potter series and part of a section which many fans have chosen to ignore completely, fans adapted to him quite well. A great deal of fanfic has been written about him as a child, a student, and even an adult.
Since the release of Cursed Child, Scorpius has gained in popularity. Although a lot of fans don't consider the play canon, his character is accepted by the majority of the fandom. His quirky personality is one of the things that is genuinely liked by most.
Much speculation has been given to what house Scorpius might sort into, with Slytherin and Ravenclaw being the most common of the four. It was revealed in Cursed Child that he was sorted into Slytherin with Albus Potter.
Fanfiction with Scorpius is often about him struggling with his father's legacy and finding his own way and friends.
Ships
Before the Cursed Child Scorpius was equally shipped with Rose Weasley and Albus Severus Potter, maybe even more with Rose. But afterward, the number of Albus Severus/Scorpius shippers drastically increased.
Less popular ships include Scorpius/James Sirius, Scorpius/Lily Luna, and Teddy/Scorpius.
