Double Categorisation

I edited the template to remove the auto-add of Category:Games from the template since it seems redundant - Category:Video Games is a subcategory of Category: Games so I don't think we want every page to show up in both. I'm assuming it was unintentional, but just in case, I thought I'd drop a line here in case there was a thought process behind having both categories. --enchantedsleeper (talk) 11:37, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

extra space at the top?

I found a page using this template that has a lot of blank space at the top: Clannad. Is there something in this template causing it?--aethel (talk) 00:22, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

There definitely seems to be something in this template that causes it, a few other VG fandoms also have it. I don't have enough experience to know how to fix it though. Legendofthefireemblem (talk) 18:09, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

Attention Gardeners: template causing extra spacing on pages

I'm nowhere near an expert with this coding language, but I think the issue is with the IF statements. Specifically, this template only displays rows that are populated, and while the code is correct, it is resulting in extra whitespace at the top of the page when all rows are not populated. I think this is related to a discussion on Template talk:!, but I haven't been able to fix it. I'll flag this with folks who have more experience with template code--Auntags (talk) 20:55, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
Just so anyone looking at this issue is aware, there are two other infoboxes that use similar code and have the same issue. Those are the infoboxes for Web series and Live Action Films. --Auntags (talk) 20:02, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
I removed/commented out all the line breaks between the if statements and that seemed to fix the extra spacing, then I added line breaks between the cells because having the bold '''Name''' on the same line as the parameter input was messing up the formatting on Friday Night Funkin' since it ends with an apostrophe. I think it all looks good now? Although I don't think the Name field should actually be optional... --sparc 04:09, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
Brilliant! I've rolled that fix out to the Webseries and Live Action Film templates too. That's a good point on Name. Do editors agree? Are there any other fields which should be required instead of optional? --Auntags (talk) 19:56, 6 October 2022 (UTC)

Name is now a mandatory field on this template, and the attention gardeners flag has been removed as it appears the issue is resolved --Auntags (talk) 20:30, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
