List of LiveJournal Communities

I've added a list of "major" LJ communities, temporarily and arbitrarily defining "major" as having 1000 members or more. Does anyone have an opinion on this? I'm open to lowering this threshold to 500 members or more which would include many more comms, but I'm concerned that the list would be excessive.

Also, would starting a complete list of communities on a sub-page be appropriate for Fanlore? It seems an important aspect of Naruto fandom that we're so extensively spread out and active like this, but I'm not sure if Fanlore has a policy on lists. -- Kylara 22:39, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

I have no idea whether there's an official policy and I'm not sure where to look, but lots of series pages seem to have lists of important fandom comms, at least that I've noticed. Loren Leah 22:44, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
I have no clue about Naruto fandom but in fandoms where I've made lists of comms I tried to be as comprehensive as I knew (like the newbie guide lists), and if the list got really long, made it as subpage with only the larger communities being mentioned on the main page so lists don't take over the page.--Ratcreature 08:23, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, it sounds like it's okay to make a list of comms as a sub-page then. I'll start that when I can, unless someone else wants to jump on it. -- Kylara 17:17, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
If you are looking for an example, check out the Merlin (BBC)/Communities. :) --Doro 17:28, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
I'll support you if it is okay to you. Susanna 17:56, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Doro, that's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! Susanna, of course. I've begun the Naruto/Communities page. -- Kylara 02:48, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Pairing page names

I propose that we rename the pairing pages to include spaces. The pages are currently SasukexNaruto, KakashixIruka, and ItachixSasuke, and I suggest they be moved to Sasuke x Naruto, Kakashi x Iruka, and Itachi x Sasuke. I do like the "x" instead of the "/" but when the "x" is used I usually see it with spaces, and it's easier to read when there are spaces. Any opinions? -- Kylara 22:49, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

I'm not familiar enough with anime fandom to have an opinion on that but I guess it's a good idea to follow the customs of a particular fandom. If it's generally written with spaces I would support moving it to pairing pages that include spaces.--Doro 23:00, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Comparing Google results, the x with spaces is far more prevalent for all the pairing names than either the x without spaces or the slash. So yeah, it's more commonly used and supports the name change. I'll put up the attn gardener tags on the pairing pages now. -- Kylara 08:45, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Boruto

There is now a sequel manga + anima "Boruto", about the next generation. The main characters are new, but it still features the main characters of Naruto in prominent roles, and obviously there's a lot of fandom overlap. (I don't know how much exactly, but it's still a sub tag of the "Naruto" tag on AO3.) I think Fanlore should have information about Naruto fans' reactions to the sequel series, but I'm not quite sure where to put it. I considered putting it on a fandom page for "Boruto", maybe it would fit best there? On the other hand I also think the Naruto page should have some info on it, and there are many Naruto fans who don't consider themselves fans of Boruto. I'm not quite sure where on the Naruto page to put it. I saw it also doesn't have a section on canon and its variations (manga vs. anime and fans' opinions on it etc.), maybe that could be created and then "Boruto" as a subsection of that? --Tiyire (talk) 11:00, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Boruto is also drawn and written by other people, I think, so much of the criticism focuses around how the new mangaka has changed Kishimoto's character designs for the new generation and what he's done with the old characters, which I think would all fit much better on separate Boruto page.
But it does seem like it would be a mistake not to mention the number of Naruto fans who haven't gotten on board with the sequel on this page. Maybe we could do that thing wikipedia does sometimes where they have a short section on a subject and underneath the section header they're like "Main article: (link to main article)" - Hoopla (talk) 15:34, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Fandub Parody of Interest?

Hello! I've been wandering through the orphaned pages I found Nortikka there and wondered if it might be something you might want to incorporate into the fandom page somehow? So leaving the link for you to assess. - WhitedSepu (talk) 04:20, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
