Rose Marie Badgett (July 15, 1947-September 8, 2024) was a fan author and artist whose works have appeared in a number of zines and publications from the 1970s to present.
She also served as a fan club president and con chair of several conventions.

Many of Badgett's works are centered on Barbara Bain and Martin Landau, whether it is in Space: 1999, Mission: Impossible, Savage, or Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island (commonly referred to as "J.J. and Olga" stories).
However, she has also written for other fandoms as well, including Beauty and the Beast.
Badgett's 1999 fan fiction has appeared in A Space: 1999 Trilogy, Blutsauger, Moonbeam, Reconnaissance Quarterly, Beating the Odds, Alpha Newsletter, and Peripatetic.
Her B&B work has appeared in Light and Cloudshadows, Tunnels of Love, and A Distant Shore (Beauty and the Beast zine).

Obituary
Rose Marie "Rosie" Badgett, 77, of Florence, Kentucky passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024. Rosie worked as a Unit Secretary at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Cincinnati, Ohio beginning in 1965, and at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California until her retirement in 2016. Her vibrant, blooming personality and her loving nature left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. A true enthusiast of life, Rosie found joy in many things. She had a deep love for cats, which brought her endless comfort and companionship. Her passion for travel, musicals, and sci-fi television and movies, especially Star Wars, was a testament to her adventurous spirit. Rosie was also known for her enthusiasm for innovative Space: 1999 conventions, where she enjoyed connecting with fellow fans.
Rosie is survived by her sister: Dolores (Harris) Smith, nieces and nephews: Carolyn (Bryan) Day, Earl DeSantis, Lauren Fallada, Amber Coleman, Brittany Coleman, Adam Acuff and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Martha Badgett, grandfather: Alfred Hoff, grandmother: Margaret Grimes, aunt: Mary Purtell, aunt: Blanch Burkardt, sister: Mary Lou Badgett, sister: Judy (Andrew) Chappie-DeSanitis and niece: Andrea DeSantis-Acuff.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 6pm. The family would like to invite you to a reception following the service. Donations can be made in Rosie’s name to SPCA or Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Fan Club President
She served as President of the International Space: 1999 Alliance, the largest and longest-lived Space: 1999 fan association, from 1985 to 1993. The Alliance was a Space: 1999 fan club that sponsored letter campaigns, published the newsletter Main Computer, held numerous fan-run conventions, and worked to support "all Gerry Anderson productions."
