Romulan is a race of aliens in Star Trek.

Fans have written extensively about the unnamed female Romulan Commander from the Star Trek: TOS episode, "Enterprise Incidents." The Romulan Commander is a featured character in Bantam novels, The Price of the Phoenix and The Fate of the Phoenix, Pocket Books' Killing Time and the famous zine, Courts of Honor.

Spock's protege, Lieutenant Saavik, was scripted as a Romulan/Vulcan hybrid, although the scene mentioning her heritage was dropped from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan before the movie's premiere and has persisted only in novelizations, original licensed novels and comics, and fanfic.

In Star Trek: The Next Generation, Commander Sela is the blonde Romulan/human hybrid daughter of a time-displaced Tasha Yar. Sela becomes a recurring antagonist in both the TV series and numerous spin-off novels and fanfics.

The Romulan commander Nero is the antagonist in the 2009 Star Trek reboot film, killing George Kirk Sr, capturing Spock Prime, destroying Vulcan and most of its inhabitants including Spock's mother, and working to destroy Earth. He features in multiple Star Trek: AOS fanworks.
