A 2021 Autobio

As I already was a fan of science fiction, I was into Star Trek from the day the show premiered in 1966. I did not hook up with organized fandom until almost 49 years ago, after seeing fanzines mentioned in some Trek books (and cons written about in TV Guide). Later on, as Trek fandom expanded to become Media fandom, my fannish interests expanded also. Over the decades I have encompassed dozens of fandoms to greater or lesser extent — never abandoning any, but allowing interests to ebb and flow. So, in no particular order (and including but not limited to):

Star Trek, Star Wars, Starsky and Hutch, Doctor Who (primarily the Fourth, Tenth, and Thirteenth Doctors), Blake's 7, The Professionals, The Sentinel, Stargate: SG-1, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Man From UNCLE (TV series), Beauty and the Beast (Ron Perlman TV series), Highlander (TV series), War of the Worlds (TV series) Shadow Chasers, various types of Anime, Robin of Sherwood, Magnificent 7 (TV series), Quantum Leap, Smallville, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Real Ghostbusters, Forever Knight, The Equalizer (TV series), Remington Steele, Harry and Johnny, Vas and Dex, Dark Shadows, Pern, Orphan Black,Darkover, MacGyver, Simon and Simon, Kiefer/Lou, Donald Strachey mysteries, and, well, other stuff. :-) I still have over 2000 zines in my library. I added online fandom to the mix almost 25 years ago and have accumulated several gigs of fan fiction and e-zines. I am a reader, not a writer, of fan fiction and a rank-and-file consumer of fandom and other fan-produced goods. I have assisted with various aspects of zine production back in The Day. In 'net fandom, I have actively contributed to many email discussion lists, then to the LJ and Dreamwidth communities, and nowadays to Facebook, Reddit, and Tumblr.

I am a lifelong Fan and will remain so.

EDITED TO ADD: In the early years of Trek fandom, some considered it ephemeral and said we would "not be introducing our grandchildren to it." HA! I remember asking one of my earliest Trek friends if she thought we still would be doing fandom five years down the line. DOUBLE HA! [1]
