Hilda is a Pokémon Trainer and a playable character from Pokémon Black and White. She is a fan favorite and the focus of many fanworks. She also makes appearances in Pokémon Masters. While she does have a counterpart in Pokéspe named White, this character is distinct enough for her own article.

The Pokémon she is most associated with is the Tepig line, including Pignite and Emboar.

  • Hilda is also shipped with Hilbert, forming ChessShipping. In Japanese, this is called トウトウ (Toutou).
  • Hilda is also shipped with Cheren, forming CheckmateShipping. In Japanese, this is called チェレ主♀ (Chere x Female Protagonist).
  • Hilda is also shipped with Grimsley, forming BelnadesShipping. In Japanese, this is called ギマ主♀ (Gima x Female Protagonist).

Hilda, White or Touko?

Unlike with many names canonized by the official English translation for the games, Hilda's in particular is very unpopular with fans. "Touko" and "White" were more common than "Hilda" when BW released in 2010 and still is as of 2025.

IsshuShipping and FerrisWheelShipping

N is said outside of the games to be around 18, four years older than both Hilda and Hilbert, and shipping him with them is considered a large age gap. Other rivals in the series do not have this age gap, so N is an outlier, something not ignored by shippers. Shippers of IsshuShipping and FerrisWheelShipping are ostracized by some in the fandom.
