- Saint Seiya: Whenever he gets unsealed, Hades chooses as vessel the purest human body on Earth, as he doesn't want to stain his real godly body with blood. He chooses the purest one as he feels no mortal body is worthy of containing him, so, it would be the lesser of two evils. The two human vessels for hades are Andromeda Shun and Alone from the spin-off Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas.

Hades is often an antagonist, or foil, for the main character in many stories, this can lead to him being portrayed as evil or malevolent and sometimes taking on the traits of the Christian devil. Although, some narratives will provide a more balanced and sympathetic look at the character, or stick closer to his Greek origin myths.
