Young Hercules is a prequel spinoff from Hercules: the Legendary Journeys, and deals with the adventures of Hercules, Jason and Iolaus as teenagers at Cheiron's Academy.
Hercules is portrayed by 17-year old Ryan Gosling.

I think it’s difficult to compare the two young Hercs; the episodes they are in are so different. The flashback episodes are pretty dark and serious while the YH show is fun and silly.
I used to think the goofiness of the YH show was a little off-putting (because I was a teenager myself and I didn’t want the things I loved to be “cringe” 🙄), but as I grew older I’ve fully embraced it and just love the vibe. 💛 [1]
