Ethan/Red, known mostly as HeartGoldShipping, ヒビレ (Hibire) and/or レヒビ (Rehibi), is a rare ship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Ethan (Hibiki) and Red (Red). Both are the protagonists of their respective games in the series: Red in Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow and Ethan in Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal.

PoliShipping, which pairs Gold and Red, is its cross-canon counterpart in the Pokémon Special manga. Unlike the majority of other Pokémon pairings, this version of their ship is more popular than its gameverse equivalent, though both are rare.

Canon Background

The GSC protagonists Ethan, Kris and Lyra are the only Pokémon protagonists to have ever canonically meet another Pokémon protagonist, which was Red.
