Gameverse is a term that refers to a universe in a major franchise which takes place in the video games' version of that property. This also applies to when existing media gets told in video game form, though this is less common.

In Pokémon fandom, some gameverse fanworks of the Gameboy games Generation I through Generation III take heavily from PokéAni and Pokéspe since the Gameboy games were unable to explain deep characterizations, unlike from Generation IV (Pokémon) onwards.
