Kris/Lyra, known mostly as NewReplacementShipping and/or コトクリ (Kotokuri), is a rare ship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Kris (Kris) and Lyra (Kotone). Kris is the female playable character in Pokémon Crystal and Lyra is the female playable character in Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver, which remade the Gold, Silver and Crystal Pokémon games.
Canon Background
The two characters have never meet in canon. They have met in Pokémon Masters, however.
Popular Tropes & Fanon
Some consider it clonecest.[1]

-Shipping Name Origin
"NewReplacementShipping" was coined sometime before 20 June 2009.[2] It's a play on how Lyra "replaced" Kris' role as the female protagonist character in HGSS. The pairing used to also have a small section on Bulbapedia, which can be seen here (in archived form), Archived version.
As of the 2020s, the name is somewhat unpopular with shippers. GenerationalGapShipping and NewTrainerShipping are proposed alternatives by indygotcha.[3]
