- Chronic Hystersis con report by Asif Quadri. Chronic Hystersis was Toronto's 30th Anniversary birthday bash and was hoping to be quite an extravagant event. Initially hopes were raised when we all thought ever popular and convention shy Lalla Ward (Romana II) would be coming, only then to be disappointed when she later cancelled. Another wild rumor was that Anneke Willis (Polly), now residing in Vancouver, would be reunited with Frazier, but unfortunately talk of this came to nothing. Nevertheless, Sarah and Frazier were just as entertaining, making this an exciting day. Chronic Hystersis was run in conjunction with WhoCon Montreal; they had the gusts on Saturday, we had them on Sunday. This was an innovative cost-cutting measure allowing expenses to be divided, simultaneously allowing two cities to benefit from a convention. The virtue of the partnership also allowed the organizers to have a broader base of resources which resulted in two guests.
- WhoCon '93 con report by Irwin Tan and Lisa Truant. WhoCon was a wonderful convention that took place in downtown Montreal on Sat., Nov. 20 1993 at the Auberge Ramada Centreville Hotel. The convention guests who helped celebrate Doctor Who's 30th anniversary included Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Frazer Hines (Jamie) and Larry (The Doctor) Stewart. Although it may seem quite strange to other people why we as Torontonians travelled all the way to Montreal for a convention when just the next day there would be another convention in Toronto (Chronic Hystersis, Nov.21) the decision was made for a number of reasons which include - finally enough time for sightseeing in Montreal (As this convention is a one day event we would have time to attend to attend the convention in its entirety but still have time to see some of the sights and visit friends who who are at university in Montreal), visit with Larry Stewart again (as we hadn't seen him since the Eye of Orion the month before), and an opportunity to see fan written Dr. Who plays on Friday night.
