Removal of Dead Fic Links

Hi, I noticed you removed several dead fic links from Doppelganger (trope). I have restored those links because on Fanlore, we don't remove dead links from pages. We keep them for archiving/ documentary reasons instead, see: Help:Dead Links. If you feel a dead link should be removed anyway, I'd like to encourage you to start a discussion on the article's talk page. Another option would be to use the dead link-template so users won't be frustrated by clicking through them. If there are a lot of dead links on a page, you might even consider grouping them into a section of their own. Best SecurityBreach (talk) 21:44, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi SecurityBreach, thanks for the headsup about dead links. However, I would like to restore the edits that you reverted and re-add the dead fic links myself, rather than go with a full-on reversion. The edit that I made was not just about removing dead fic links; it also involved organizing and re-formatting the list of example works to be easier to navigate and parse, adding interwiki links to different fandoms, starting work on reworking the canon examples page to be easier for non-fans to understand, and so on. Hello SecurityBreach, sorry for the late update. I'm working on restoring my revisions with the dead fics links re-added, and it looks like there are some fics listed with no links at all, not even a dead/404 link. I checked the revision history and I can't find any links in the edit history. What's on our protocol on fics like those? In my opinion, it seems a bit odd to list a fic with no link at all. Source Template

Hey, your edit to the Source Template changed how archive-url looks on pages. See A Mile in Your Shoes for an example, instead of displaying the archived link, it displays [{{{archiveurl}}} Archived version]. I'm not sure how to fix it and I was wondering if you could help? The errors were a pair of extra closing template brackets, the template closing brackets being called before the end of the reference, and some alias issues with specific parameters. I'll add more aliases in a moment. Pinky G Rocket (talk) 16:51, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

Look what we made Taylor Swift do

Hi! I am aware that this article is incomplete in terms of fan coverage and that it is currently word-for-word but I just kind of panicked that it was already an article nominated for deletion and wanted to preserve its text to discuss it on fanlore. You're right that I probably should have put it in a google docs and fleshed it out with fan discussion instead. I haven't ever run into this issue before in my eight years of editing fanlore and there doesn't seem to be a teahouse where you can discuss these things and I kind of assumed that people weren't on patrol very often. If you need to delete the article for plagiarism I totally understand, I just wanted to leave a message to request that my account not be sanctioned as I am generally an editor in good standing.
