Hello. I am a Baby Boomer and TV generation kid who always watched a variety of TV shows while growing up. Also always read a lot of books, including fantasy and science fiction. Strangely, I am now a librarian.
Favorite television shows over the years: Star Trek (should note this includes all sequels), The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Get Smart!, The Wild Wild West, Dark Shadows, Kung Fu (also, later, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Alias Smith and Jones, I Spy, The Avengers(British TV show), The Prisoner, Columbo, Beauty and the Beast, Remington Steele, Simon and Simon, The Equalizer, The Greatest American Hero, both Battlestar Galacticas, (dubious about Galactica 1980, lol!), Robin of Sherwood, Quantum Leap, Doctor Who (both Classic and New), Highlander, Blake's 7, The Real Ghostbusters, All Creatures Great and Small, The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, Peacemakers, Babylon 5, Chuck, Due South, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Sleepy Hollow, Lucifer, Murdoch Mysteries (aka The Artful Detective), Psych, most Sherlock Holmes movies and television shows, including Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett, Sherlock and Elementary.
I joined my first Star Trek club in the late Seventies at college, soon saw old Doctor Who episodes on local TV and joined a local club that focused on Who. At one of their get-togethers, Blake's 7 was mentioned, though I didn't watch that till a bit later. I started writing DW fanfic for zines about the same time. Also attended a convention and got Tom Baker's autograph!
I think I discovered U.N.C.L.E. fandom's existence in the late Eighties or early Nineties, back when episodes were only re-run at ridiculous times following pro-wrestling. I participated in Yahoo groups and mailing lists such as Channel D and Channel W. I also discovered, watching reruns, that I preferred Napoleon Solo, at least now. (I think as a kid I liked both agents.)
