Therin is an Andorian featured in numerous Star Trek fan stories, articles, masquerades, debates, movie premieres and Harpic Productions' fan films and con skits. He is an alter-ego played by Ian McLean since 1980. Therin hosted two award-winning Australian fan films by Harpic Productions: Sale of the 23rd Century (1985) and Perfect Botch (1986). He has been tuckerized in several licensed Star Trek novels (as Shantherin th'Clane,[1] Veldaclien ch'Gorin, Shantherin th'Talias, Therin Park,[2] New Therin Park, and the Imperial Guard Warship, Therin.[3]

Therin's father, Senator Therin of the Andorian Planetary Council, made a cameo appearance in the 2002 US fan film, Starship Exeter: The Savage Empire.

Therin is the surviving sibling of Commander Thelin, who was briefly seen as Spock's replacement in an alternate history in "Yesteryear", an episode of Filmation's animated Star Trek series.

Canonical appearances

From March 2022, Therin of Andor and his USS Hood colleague, Grol of Tellar, have made canonical cameo appearances (as set dressing photographs in Guinan's 10 Forward Avenue bar) in the second and third seasons of Star Trek: Picard, in particular "Farewell", "Seventeen Seconds" and "No Win Scenario".[4] [5]
