Guinan is the enigmatic bartender in Ten Forward, the lounge aboard the USS Enterprise-D on Star Trek: The Next Generation. She often offers counsel to ship's personnel. She is a member of the El-Aurian race, well known as "listeners." Her people were scattered by the Borg. She is played by Whoopi Goldberg. In Season Two of Star Trek: Picard, it is revealed that a younger Guinan (Ito Aghayer) once ran a bar at 10 Forward Avenue in Los Angeles on Earth. (A holographic facsimile of this bar now exists on Starfleet vessels.)
