Talk:Cyberbullying and Fandom
Page Name
This should either be deleted or converted into a Fan Activities/Discussion page, with a list of known or alleged cyber bullies in fandom. Could link to A Report on Damage Done by One Individual Under Several Names.--aethel (talk) 01:58, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- Should this be renamed Cyberbullying in Fandom? As Aethel mentioned, this isn't a fan term or a fandom-specific phenomenon. I also think that the bully/bullying redirect needs to be deleted or a disambiguation page needs to be made. Several wikilinks leading here refer to fictional bullying/characters being bullies, not cyberbullying at all. --sparc 03:21, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- I think renaming the page in Cyberbullying in Fandom would be a good idea. Even it's not fandom specific it's one of the results of mocking, dog piling, flame wars or ship wars and sadly of of the dark sides of fandom/fannish communities. When creating the wikilinks I left the non cyber/fandom bullying one as a links to Bullying (instead of Cyberbullying [or at least I hope I did]) so if required offline and/or bullying of fictional characters could have a page as a fan fic trope etc or (in case of offline bullying as an extend of Fannish cyber bullying if there are cases of this, not sure). A list of allegedly cyber bullies in fandom would IMO problematic because as far as I understand it, Fanlore is not Fandom police and it could be used to discredit users who are not bullies. Not every difference of opinion is cyber bullying and some people could abuse such a list to "get back" at someone. WhatAreFrogs? (talk) 12:02, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- +1 for Cyberbullying in Fandom or Cyberbullying and Fandom (The latter would fit the wording of Race and Fandom, Judaism and Fandom, Safe Sex and Fandom, Social Justice and Fandom, Fan Age and Fandom, Christianity and Fandom, Asexuality and Fandom, Social Justice and Fandom, Dogpiling and Fandom, etc.). --Doro (talk) 20:19, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- +1 for Cyberbullying and Fandom from me then :) WhatAreFrogs? (talk) 12:19, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

- OK then! Page moved :) --sparc 19:28, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

Redirects
I think bully/bullying are too general to redirect here. Most of those links are referring to fictional characters bullying each other. Should those redirects just be deleted, or do we need a page like Bullying in Fanworks? --sparc 01:11, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
