The Sirius/Remus Fuh-Q-Fest was a Harry Potter Fuh-Q-Fest.

Welcome to the SBRL Fuh-Q-Fest. The FQF is a writer's challenge, wherein challenges are given and participants write stories to suit those challenges. As the acronym suggests, the SBRL FQF is for the slash pairing of Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. All stories submitted for this challenge will feature this pairing in one way or another, and all stories will be slash or pre-slash. We have organised this challenge to draw people out of the woodwork and get people writing what - in our ever so humble opinion, of course - is the Pairing Most Likely To Be Canon. So step away from Harry and Draco, put aside Seamus and Dean, and give Severus Snape some time off - it's time to do things doggy-style.

The second wave was held after the release of Order of the Phoenix and had the theme Bring Back Black.

FAQ

How do I submit my story?

Please submit your story in the predetermined HTML format shown here. Feel free to save the source and use it. All submissions must be sent in HTML format. If you are unable to code your own document, please arrange with someone else to do it for you before submitting. Uncoded documents will not be accepted.

Do I need to use a beta?

Absofuckinglutely. Unbetaed fic will be sent back and refused until it has been betaed properly. Stories that are badly-written, contain poor grammar and lack of punctuation will not be accepted. No excuses. Get a beta, or don't bother.

Can we combine challenges into one story?

Yes! Just let me know.

Can we submit previously-done stories or artwork?

I would prefer it if all fiction and artwork submitted to the FQF were original, i.e. not posted anywhere else before. This is a challenge designed to breathe new life into the pairing, so the more new stuff, the better

How long does a story have to be?

As long (or short) as you want. Sorry, no drabbles.

Is this all about the sex?

No. Smut/NC-17 content is not required for the Fuh-Q-Fest, despite the name. G, PG, PG-13 and R fiction is strongly encouraged as are all sorts of stories – angst!fic, WAFF, pre-slash... This challenge celebrates diversity and is not dependent on sexual content.

Do I have to make my story an answer to a challenge?

Uh, yeah. Otherwise, what is the point?

Can I pair Remus or Sirius with other people?

Only if there is/was also a Remus/Sirius relationship, and it is the focal point of the story.

What if someone has claimed the challenge I wanted?

If the challenge is not in red text, chances are it is still available for claim. Beyond that, please select a different challenge. We encourage writers to attempt something they would not do, otherwise, so think different.

If I am illustrating a story, what are the requirements? Can it be graphic, or do you have limits?

All fanart submissions should be in .jpeg or .jpg format and of a resolution of 72dpi. Any file over 1mb will be reduced, with great care taken to maintain the quality of the image. This is out of consideration for our friends on dialup who do not want to have to wait seventeen hours for a picture to download. You may submit in colour or grayscale, and we leave the content to your discretion. Extremely graphic images will bear a warning in the link, just to be on the safe side.

Can I link to your site? Do you have banners?

Yes! And yes, we do. You can find them here. Please download them and upload to your own server, and link them back to us. We appreciate your pimpage.

Rules

Because everything fun has to have a few rules here and there. Break these, and it'll be points from your house and a detention with Filch - and the old punishments are, I believe, still in effect:

1. Be legal. Please, for the love of Prongs, be of legal age in your country of residence and allowed by law to view adult material. This isn't called a Fuh-Q-Fest for nothing, you know.

2. Show common sense and courtesy to your readers and either use a beta for your fic, or run it through a spell-checker. Submissions that are illegible will not be accepted and will be returned. This includes the use of Internet shorthand (OMG, WTF, etc.) and acronymns (TBWL, YKW, yadda). We will laugh at you.

3. Stories containing extreme violence, BDSM, bloodplay, rape, chanslash and non-con must bear a warning and an NC-17 rating. Sorry to be fascist, but some people don't want to read this stuff, and rather than tell you not to write it, all we're asking for is a polite heads-up. Mmkay?

4. If you choose to have a challenge assigned to you rather than pick one yourself, you have one week to trade your challenge in or with another participant. After that, you're stuck with it, or you can bail and we will mock you mercilessly and dance upon your grave.

5. Do not post your story anywhere else until the FQF has run its course. Previously posted/written stories are not eligible.

6. Remember that this is a Remus Lupin-slash-Sirius Black challenge, and all stories must contain this pairing in some way, shape or form. You'd be surprised at what people will try to get away with in a challenge, so we just thought we'd put that out there.

7. Once again, for God's sake, use a fucking beta.
