Excerpts

How long have you realised you were a Noromo? What do you think about the whole Shippers vs. Noromos thing?

I really didn't realize that I was a noromo until I could conceive of the idea that a human being could actually WANT Mulder and Scully together -- the idea was so ludicrous that I was forced into my official noromo stance. (In other words, when my friend Jeff started to go wacko on me about six months ago.)

How do you feel about the characters now (eg, are you a OBSSEsor, a Mulderist, a Frohike Liberationist)?

I have to say, if MASHEO wasn't MASHEO, it would have been a CSM page. Something just too appealing about that character ...

What inspired you to create your site?

The sudden and horrible realization that EVERY LAST FRIGGIN' ONE of my friends from back home was damned shipper! And what was worse, they slowly came to realize that I was the only Noromo and came gangin' up on me -- constant emails, pics, phone conversations. The bombardment was almost unbearable ... until I decided to retaliate. I knew something big was needed. I knew extreme measures were necessary ... and thus MASHEO was born.

Have you had much interesting feedback from it, made any new friends/enemies?

I believe, "Hell yes" is the only appropriate response. Certainly new friends -- the Noromo community has been overwhelmingly supportive. Thank you to all of you! Enemies? Well, I have received many a flame already -- shippers that tell me that I shouldn't be allowed to watch The X-Files, people that tell me that I'm taking everything out of context and that Mulder and Scully really don't hate each other (dur! really?). But I think the fact that so many people can be sincerely offended by the MASHEO site is really a sad commentary on a culture that wants to live vicariously through the characters of a TV show. If you're actually offended by the site, you need to stop watching television and movies altogether. (Sorry, bit of a rant there ...)
