Matt is a Team Aqua Admin who debuted in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. He received a major redesign in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire along with his fellow Aqua Admin Shelly.

Him, Shelly and Archie are often fanworked together, since they are the three named members of Team Aqua. This may be called the Aqua Trio by fans.
