History

At the end of the fourth war in Shippuden, Kakashi Hatake and Sakura Haruno shared a series of scenes together. Scenes like him saving her from a fall, or holding her in his arms after she is attacked. In a scene, he brushes her cheek with his thumb while she's unconscious. When the war ends, they are seen leaning on each other.

Kakasaku is a controversial couple and one that has led to heated arguments. Apart from the clashing ships like Narusaku or Sasusaku, there is the fact that the age gap between them is fourteen years. Sakura is twelve when the series begins and at the end, after the epilogue she is thirty-two. Most fans of this couple only ship them when she's grown up.

One of the reasons some fans don't like this pairing is because of the teacher/student dynamic. It's a squick for some that feelings arise from such a relationship, even when both are adults.

Anti activity is high and aggressive and it's not uncommon to see Kakasaku on DNI lists. There was a famous anti-Kakasaku user who signed their messages as g.o.d and who for years left nasty messages on people's kakasaku fanfics on AO3 and ff.net. They don't seem to be active now, but they used to check the tag every day leaving flames and suicide baiting in comments.

For people who are not satisfied with the endgame couples, Kakasaku is an alternative. Fans feel they have always respected and understood each other and prefer Sakura to be with someone like that rather than with someone who repeatedly hurt her.

• Infidelity -- Sakura cheats on Sasuke with Kakashi or Sasuke cheats on her with someone else and she dumps him.
