Giovanni & Silver is a common gen (combi in Japanese) relationship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Giovanni (Sakaki) and Silver (Silver) from Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal. Giovanni is the leader of the villainous Team Rocket and Silver is his son, as well as the rival to the playable character which may be Ethan, Kris or Lyra.
Giovanni canonically abandoned him prior to the events of the games and the Pokémon Special manga series. Giovanni & Silver is more common in fanworks in the Special canon, though many also exist in the gameverse canon.
In the Japanese side of the fandom, their relationship is known as サカキ親子, meaning "Sakaki Parent and Child."
