Dangan Ronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School is a TV anime series which aired in Japan during 2016. While Dangan Ronpa was not new to anime, this one was the first to not be an adaptation of an existing Dangan Ronpa video game.
The End of Hope's Peak High School is split into two parts. The first is the Future Arc, which is a sequel to Dangan Ronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and follows Makoto Naegi and his group as they are forced to participate in a "killing game," a staple of the series.
The second is the Despair Arc, which is a prequel to Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. It tells the story of how Junko Enoshima managed to manipulate the cast of Goodbye Despair into doing her bidding in bringing the end of the world.
The recommended viewing order for these two arcs is to watch them concurrently, as that was how they were originally aired on TV. Fans of this anime often tag fanworks or meta of the series which either Despair or Future Arc depending on the arc they are talking about.
