Catherine Chandler is one of two main characters from the first two seasons of Beauty and the Beast (TV).
She was an Assistant District Attorney in New York City. When she is attacked by a gang of hoodlums in the park, she is rescued by a mysterious figure named Vincent, and brought below the city to a secret community. She proceeds to fall in love with Vincent and has to reconcile her life both Above and Below.
Her death at the end of season two was a was traumatizing to many fans, and one result was a The Beauty and the Beast Wars.
