re: "hope I handled that right" -- thank you, just what I'd hoped for! --Sk 01:47, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- I love the work you're doing, Sk. --Mrs. Potato Head 01:50, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hee, edits as in madly skipping around like -- wow, squirrels come in quite a few colors! Um, where was I? Anyhow, I'm having fun trying to add more goodness, or at least (my somewhat limited, plus a tiny bit of research) fannish experience of entertainingness to the wiki. Thanks for the encouragement! :) --Sk 22:29, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Maybe you haven't noticed but the page is protected. You can see the reasons for this on the talk page. The protection is there to prevent more edits so editing it gives you an advantage because no regular editor will be able to correct anything. I would feel more comfortable if the changes after the protection would be rolled back. ETA: Which is just my opinion. I don't know how other editors feel about that and I don't know if we have guidelines for something like that. *sigh* --Doro 23:39, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- I don't know the rules either. Roll them back if you need to. --Mrs. Potato Head 23:48, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
Upload files
Hi! How can I upload files so that they don't take up three lines on the Recent Changes page? Nobody else's files seem to do that, as far as I can see, and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks!--Tiyire 16:02, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
- Are you thinking of the three girl scout cookie image uploads you just did? Because you did it just right. Each upload will "take up a line" on recent changes and that's okay. Don't worry about that, Tiyire. :-) --Mrs. Potato Head 16:33, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
- Good to know, thank you!--Tiyire 16:40, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
Spam?
Long time no see! Well, I'll probably get back into things after the first of the year. Anyway, I've got a question for you. Some people I know are trying to start a media wiki on another subject. It's been flooded with spam for everything from planning your daughter's wedding to aluminum siding. How do people prevent spam on wikis? I've never seen any here, so I thought I would ask you. --KTJ 23:59, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thought I'd help - you should send this query up to the Wiki Committee - they'll most likely know more about how the Fanlore wiki is set up and what preventative measures they (or Systems) has put in place. What media Wiki is being started? The harry pottter wiki went offline last year, and I know of the Supernatural wiki.--MeeDee 00:14, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- It is not actually media related. They just used MediaWiki to create it. How do I communicate with the Wiki committee? --KTJ 09:44, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- Fanlore has been getting a LOT more spam in the last few months, so it's definitely here. Blah!! But the technical ins and outs of the whys and spam prevention is something I know nothing about. I just know I hate it. MeeDee's suggestion of asking the wiki committee is a good one. It's good to hear from you, KTJ, and it will be fun to have you back at Fanlore. :-) --Mrs. Potato Head 00:31, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
