Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm hoping to add content for Terry Pratchett, as I can't believe Neil Gaiman's page has content, but his doesn't! There are also some GO fandom authors who aren't on here who really should be, so I plan to knock out some of those, too. --Heartinthemist (talk) 20:42, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
You're doing super work, Espresso Addict. Among other stuff, I especially appreciate the work you did on Judith Proctor's page. It was much needed. --Mrs. Potato Head 23:11, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, Mrs. Potato Head! I've been a member here for ages but I never seem to get as much done as I feel I should. It's easy to feel put off by the undeveloped state of some of the major fandom pages. I'm in awe of all you've done on fanzines -- kudos! Espresso Addict 23:59, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- The slim/non-existent pages are a bit demoralizing, but we just have to keep pecking away at it! :-) Fanzines/pre-internet fandom -- it's my passion. Thank you for the kudos and encouragement. --Mrs. Potato Head 00:53, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
Hello, Espresso Addict! I wasn't sure if you knew this, but I just wanted to point out that you can see a complete list of everything you've edited here. Of course, it's not as nicely formatted as what you have on your userpage :) Also, I only just noticed this myself, but you can see a list of pages created by a given user if you go to Special:Newpages and plug in the username. (Although now that I look at, I see it only returns recent edits with some mysterious cutoff date I can't ascertain. Hrmf.)--æþel 16:43, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, Aethel. I'm actually a stray from the English Wikipedia, so I did know you can look up contributions. I've always considered authorship of wiki content is important to track, so I habitually maintain a public list of all the pages I've created on all the wikis I work on. Probably just personal vanity, but I find it's a good motivator :) Espresso Addict 19:18, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry about the unnecessary infodump. A public list is a good idea; now I think I'll look into creating my own....--æþel 23:40, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
You're right, a public list of stuff I got done \o/ really is motivational! Thanks for the idea. --Tiyire 17:00, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
- I'm glad you find it useful! I find a side benefit of having the list is I'm drawn back to the pages and keep on trying to improve them over time. Espresso Addict 18:39, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
I see that you've added a category "Firefly Characters", but kept the category "Firefly" for the character pages, too. I'm confused: I thought the use of subcategories was not to have the pages in the main category list? Or is that just because Firefly doesn't have many Fanlore pages yet?--Tiyire 22:17, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, I created that at the same time as several other character categories in an attempt to make seeing which major characters were missing easier, then realised that where I'd made an overarching character category that covered more than one fandom (Buffyverse, Tolkien, Whoniverse) removing the fandom category just made it even harder to find the characters. So I threw up my hands in despair and left all existing categories as well. You're right that Firefly is one of the unambiguous ones, where it won't create any confusion. I'll remove the spurious cats. Espresso Addict 22:35, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation! I can imagine that with some fandoms it could be difficult. --Tiyire 22:47, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
I love all the fine, fine work you're doing, Espresso Addict, especially on the Elim Garak and other DS9 pages. --Mrs. Potato Head 20:30, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you! Garak is one of my all-time-favourite characters -- I'd been meaning to start an article for him but kept getting put off by the sheer volume of fanworks, so I was really grateful to find your page. And Morn! That really made me smile. Espresso Addict 00:19, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for the stubby stubs for Sisko and Janeway. I know very little about either, but hated that there was no page at all. --Mrs. Potato Head 01:09, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
- I fear I know virtually nothing about Janeway, either! Sisko doesn't get a lot of fanfiction, afaik, so I can't really help out with fandom there. I'll try to put together some canon summary for him, but it's hard to know exactly what to include so as not to utterly spoil the S7 finale. Espresso Addict 03:36, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Welcome to you: Espresso Addict, new gardener! :-) --Mrs. Potato Head 20:21, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
Espresso Addict, I just love all the Tolkien work you're doing! Much needed and very interesting. --Mrs. Potato Head 13:41, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'm anticipating a big leap in activity once the first The Hobbit film is out. I wish I knew more about the pre-internet fandom -- I was in it from the mid-80s but it didn't join up well -- I knew nothing beyond the club I was in. Espresso Addict 15:54, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for tweaking my stub work from this morning. I think that area is not my forte. --Mrs. Potato Head 13:54, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
- I'm glad I didn't offend you too badly. I think we should maybe go through them in convoy -- you take 'em off, I put (some of) 'em back! :) Espresso Addict 14:02, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
- No offense taken. But I think I should stay away from stub removal and concentrate on other ways to mess things up. ;-) --Mrs. Potato Head 14:10, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
I really don't know if I'm doing this right, but I just wanted to thank you for cleaning up after me (Jeez, that sounded so wrong). I'm so new to this it's riddiculous Calajane 17:37, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

Stubs
So happy you're working on stubs! --Mrs. Potato Head 01:09, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
- Well, mostly it's been just changing stub templates for the new ones... I trawled through most of the stubs I could usefully add to back in September. But hopefully splitting the heap up a little will encourage others to nibble at things :) Espresso Addict 02:25, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
- You're up to "P"! I've been watching your progress on the Recent Changes page. :-) --Mrs. Potato Head 02:50, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Better than that, the header reads The following 200 pages are in this category, out of 1,399 total.!! I think it was ~1750 before Stub September. :) Espresso Addict 14:18, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- You deserve a badge or something. That category gets less scary by the minute. Great work! :D --Doro 16:08, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks! I was hoping to get the total down to three figures, but I think that might have been a bit ambitious. Espresso Addict 16:41, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Hardline Breaks
So happy for the Beyond Bree wikilinks! I'm unfamiliar enough with this fandom to not know them well. Curious: what are "hardline breaks" and how did you "remove" them? I looked at the history page for it and couldn't figure it out. One reason I'm asking, is I find the paragraph breaks tricky all over Fanlore within the quotation template. Sometimes a simple space works, sometimes a
works and sometimes not. --Mrs. Potato Head 04:45, 17 November 2012 (UTC) Adding: the "br" thing looked fine in the preview, but it missing in the end result... --Mrs. Potato Head 05:05, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- Usenet (like old-style e-mail) breaks text with linebreak characters that appear to transfer invisibly to the wiki -- I just went to the end of each line and deleted the invisible character so the text would flow properly.
- It beats me, though, why the quotation template sometimes understands linebreaks & sometimes requires one or more <br>s! I've never found any pattern to it, I just go with whatever works at the time. Espresso Addict 06:00, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- ETA: If you cut & paste the original Usenet text into Word, and do show hidden characters (shift control 8), you can see the invisible breaks, by the way. Espresso Addict 06:11, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
Subtitle
Thank you so much for working on the subtitle page! It looks much better already. -the old briar pipe 01:47, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, I missed this while I was busy querying splitting the two parts on the talk page! Glad you don't feel I've derailed your article. Espresso Addict 02:02, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Grimm
Hi ! Thank you very much for what you said about the Grimm article. I don't know what I could add now, but I will create pages for the characters. If you have any suggestion, or any advice, I would be glad to receive it ! Thank you again !

Sortable Tables
As I recall, what I used for Multifandom Archive was the standard sortable table code used on Wikipedia and other wikis. I just copied it over. It could be anywhere on Fanlore if other people did the same. Franzeska (talk) 02:09, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

help pages
I think I have improved on Help:RPF pages (and Help:People pages). I haven't gotten to the disambiguation help pages yet. Let me know if you see anything else confusing.--æþel (talk) 01:55, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
fabulous work
Espresso Addict, you are doing such amazing work on the Blake's 7 pages. I just grin when I see your edits and activity. :) --MPH (talk) 15:14, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, MPH! I'm always amazed when I come across some obscure fanzine or APA that you've already notated it here :) I'm trying to get up the energy to add another character; Vila & Tarrant might be beyond me, but I've hopes for the other women & Gan. Tolkien Essays
These essay pages you have been adding are gold! Interesting topics, thoughtful responses... --MPH (talk) 22:47, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, MPH! Tolkien fandom is so full of intelligent debate; it is refreshing to revisit it. I've been much enjoying your set of Mary-Sue essays. Espresso Addict (talk) 23:35, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
Thank You, Espresso Addict
Thank you for all your work and energy. I'm going to miss your edits a lot, and seeing you on the Recent Changes page. Good luck, and take care. --MPH (talk) 15:03, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
