Infobox image

Thoughts on what illustration should be highlighted in the infobox? My criteria in narrowing down options to the four below were 1) not a photo manip, 2) painterly aesthetic, 3) matching the composition and colour scheme of the original painting rather than just replicating the poses of the two figures. They're all lovely, but I think the third one -- Kingstoken (talk) 10:29, 17 October 2023 (UTC)

Original Image

I know we don't want a lot of "official canon" images on Fanlore, but due to definition of imitation and use of this image, I think that the original Klimt one should also be on this page so fans can see what the fanart is based on. MPH 13:34, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
I agree with this proposal. I wanted to feature the original painting when I made this article. I hesitated due to the fact it isn't a fandom-related work. Anyone else have thoughts? Night Rain (talk) 12:18, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
I agree with adding the original image to provide visual reference. Over on the Akira article, I added a couple of screenshots from the film to provide some needed context (namely the bike slide and the connection to the Olympics). Pinky G Rocket (talk) 15:06, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
I also agree and I added the image. However, it looks like something about the infobox template is messed up? I tried to center the image, and it didn't work.--aethel (talk) 18:54, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
The trick to making infobox images reasonably centered seems to be to left align them. This image-alignment quirk seems to impact other Fanlore infoboxes. Night Rain (talk) 19:52, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
Should we put some category on all these "official canon" type of images? Just to distinguish it from fan art and the like Distracteddaydreamer (talk) 17:34, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
I've been adding them to Category:Fine Art for now. We could also create a dedicated image category. Any suggestions for potential names? Night Rain (talk) 23:19, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
