Talk:Lemon
Error
The usage has not travelled much beyond anime fandom, though sightings have been reported in Harry Potter and Twilight fandoms.
I'm pretty sure this is inaccurate? I've seen it in a lot of non-anime fandoms besides these two. I think it was widespread on FFnet. Should we find citations before changing the info? —caes (talk) 06:02, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- This sentence, excluding references to Harry Potter and Twilight, was written in 2008. The HP and twilight additions were added in 2014. I think this links into the expand tag on the page. When was the period of time that had the highest usage of the lemon scale? When did it transfer to non-anime fandoms, and in which fandoms was its usage most prominent? We could alter the wording slightly, but I'm not in favor of deleting. And citations would be great if you can find any.
- The intro could definitely use some info about how the lemon scale was resurrected due to the Tumblr purge. It's already (kinda) covered further down the page but it would serve to add context about how well known the term Lemon was among fans (of a certain age).--Auntags (talk) 22:39, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- I'm fixing this because the page contradicts it almost immediately by saying that the term had spread outside early anime fandom by the early-mid 2000s, and there are other examples given of uses beyond anime fandom. I also don't know why those two specific fandoms were listed since there are no citations given.
- On another topic, the organisation of this page with relation to Lime and The Citrus Scale bothers me. Lime has its own separate page but there's barely anything to say about it, while The Citrus Scale is a subsection of this page even though it's a broader 'topic' that encompasses both terms. Although Lemon is the most well-known as a term on its own, to me it seems more logical to rename this page to The Citrus Scale with Lemon as a redirect (and merge the content from Lime and have Lime redirect to Citrus Scale).
- Thoughts? --enchantedsleeper (talk) 21:12, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
Timeline of Uses
I do not have the brainpower to figure out how to present this, but I did want to search for non-animanga lemon uses on LiveJournal and share what I found for potential editing. Not a lot, but it's hard to navigate LJ. Most links are not to LJ posts, just where they led me. Will probably be back with more.

- Also, Usage Throughout Time should probably have reference to the uses on Quizilla named later in the page. That threw me off. -- Sobqjmv sphinx (talk) 19:51, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
